Your Home, Intelligently Wired

Smart wiring goes beyond standard electrical installation. Rather than hardwiring each switch to its own circuit, a smart wired home runs all devices back to a central controller — in our case, a Loxone Miniserver. This gives you total flexibility to control and automate everything in the property from one place.

The key is getting the infrastructure right at first fix stage. Cables need to be run correctly before plastering — which is why smart wiring is best designed and installed during a new build or extension, where everything can be planned from scratch.

  • Structured cabling throughout the property at first fix
  • Central Loxone Miniserver installation and configuration
  • All devices connected back to a central point for full programmability
  • No need to replace switches or fittings with proprietary hardware
  • Fully programmable and reprogrammable after installation
  • Works alongside your standard NICEIC-certified electrical installation

The Platform Built for This

Loxone is one of the leading building automation platforms in Europe — used in high-end residential properties, hotels, and commercial buildings. Unlike consumer smart home products that bolt on after the fact, Loxone is designed to be the central nervous system of a building from the ground up.

As a Loxone Registered Partner, AES is trained in the installation and programming of Loxone systems, meaning we handle the full project — from first fix cabling through to final programming and handover.

  • Industry-leading reliability — no cloud dependency for core functions
  • Single app controls the entire property
  • Intuitive automation — lights, heating, blinds all work together
  • Scales from a single room to a whole property
  • Designed for new builds and major extensions
  • Backed by Loxone's extensive support and training network

One System. Everything.

Lighting Control

Every light in the property controlled individually or by zone. Set scenes for morning, evening, entertaining, or away mode. Automatic presence-based control — lights on when you enter, off when you leave.

Heating & Climate

Room-by-room temperature control with intelligent scheduling. Loxone learns your patterns and adjusts automatically — cutting energy use without compromising comfort.

Security & Access

Integrated alarm, door contacts, and access control all managed through the same system. Know who's at the door, arm the alarm remotely, and get notifications when something needs your attention.

Audio & AV

Multiroom audio integrated into the same control interface. Music follows you through the house, volume adjusts by room, and AV equipment turns on and off as part of your scenes.

Blinds & Shading

Motorised blinds and curtains controlled automatically based on sunlight levels, time of day, or room temperature. Integrated with lighting scenes for a fully cohesive feel.

App & Touchscreens

Control everything from the Loxone app on your phone, wall-mounted touchscreens, or physical switches — whichever suits the moment. The system works locally without relying on the cloud.

Why Plan It Now

Smart Wiring Is a First Fix Decision

The single most important thing to know about smart home wiring is that it needs to be planned at the start of a project. Retrofitting a smart system into a finished property is expensive and disruptive. If you're building or extending, now is the time to have the conversation.

01

Plan at First Fix

Smart wiring infrastructure needs to go in before plastering. Once walls are finished, the opportunity for a clean, cost-effective installation is gone.

02

No Extra Disruption

When done alongside your standard electrical installation, smart wiring adds minimal time to the project — the cabling simply goes in at the same stage.

03

Future Proof

Loxone systems are fully reprogrammable after installation. Your requirements can change — your system changes with you, without reopening walls.

04

Adds Property Value

A fully integrated smart home is an increasingly desirable feature in high-end properties and can add meaningful value at point of sale.

Our Process

01

Consultation

We discuss your project, your requirements, and what you want to control. We'll advise on the scope of smart wiring that makes sense for your build and budget.

02

Design & Quote

We produce a detailed proposal covering the cabling infrastructure, Loxone hardware required, and a fixed-price quote for the full installation from first fix to commissioning.

03

Installation

Structured cabling is installed at first fix alongside the standard electrical installation. The Loxone Miniserver and peripherals are fitted at second fix and connected up.

04

Programming & Handover

We programme the system to your brief — scenes, schedules, automations — and walk you through everything at handover. Ongoing support available after completion.

A Note on Our Smart Home Journey

We're building our smart home offering carefully and honestly. AES is a Loxone Registered Partner and our team is actively training in Loxone programming and commissioning. We're taking on smart wiring projects now — particularly on new builds and extensions where the infrastructure can be planned from the ground up. If you have a project in mind and want to explore what's possible, we'd love to have that conversation.
